Many Tweeters think Tamil Nadu CM and AIADMK leader J. Jayalalithaa is already dead. They believe that most Indian politicians are paying their respects because this will not be possible when the news is made public. Their belief is based on the fact that neither AIADMK nor Apollo Hospital in Chennai are giving out any information other than the fact that her health is being monitored. The Jayalalithaa dead rumors go as back as October, when the CM was first admitted to hospital this year for fever and dehydration.
However, a round of Whats app forwards and Fake Wikipedia news, featuring the CM have been circulating amongst people, only increasing the confusion. AIADMK, on its part has only tweeted “Continuous treatment is being given using ECMO to Puratchi Thalaivi Amma- Apollo Hospital.” In addition, Apollo Hospital Chennai has released a press release about the treatment she is undergoing.
#Jayalalithaa this idiot declared "Amma" dead. Action should be taken against him for creating panic in the state via social media. pic.twitter.com/Pq2VelTbmc

I really think Jayalalitha is dead. They're just extending the announce date like they did for Bal Thackeray, for the same reasons ofcourse.

Distressed to hear about CM Jayalalithaa suffering a cardiac arrest, my prayers for her speedy recovery #PresidentMukherjee
— President Mukherjee (@POI13) December 4, 2016
An article in The Indian Express states that the 68-year-old is being treated and monitored by a team of experts. Her team of doctors include cardiologists, pulmonologists and critical care specialists. “She is on extracorporeal membrane heart assist device and is being treated by a team of expert doctors and critical care specialists. Dr Richard Beale from London has also been consulted and he has concurred with the line of treatment by our cardiologists & pulmonologists,” tweeted the hospital.
However, given the situation, Tamil Nadu Police and CRPF personnel have been deployed and are on a high alert across Chennai and the state, states an article in The Times Of India. T K Rajendran, who is the State DGP has asked his force to stay on duty till “further orders.”
“They should report in full uniform with their vehicles for law and order bandobust duty until further orders,” he said. Already, a huge number of AIADMK supporters have gathered outside the Chennai hospital. In addition to this, Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan and BJP MP in Rajya Sabha La Ganesan have already visited her in the hospital. Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu too is scheduled to visit today.

An article in First Post states Indian politicians have been praying for Amma’s health ever since news about her cardiac arrest circulated in the media. President Pranab Mukherjee, Mamata Banarjee, Rahul Gandhi, Vasundhara Raje, Lalu Prasad Yaydav, Arvind Kejriwal and many others have tweeted wishing her speedy recovery.
However, at the moment, there is nothing more in news about the CM. We hope people stay away from senseless Jayalalithaa dead forwards and only trust news from official sources.
