With the grace of Sri Hari, Vayu, Gurugalu and the blessings of His Holiness Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji (Sri Puthige Mutt, Udupi), Sri Venkata Krishna Vrundavana Sydney (SVKVS), a branch of Udupi Shree Puthige Mutt organized the first “Yakshagana” event in Sydney. The play was based on Sudhanvarjuna Kalaga and held on 26/10/2019 at Durga Devi Temple Auditorium,Regents Park, Sydney, NSW, Australia.

The artists led by M Devand Bhat from Shri Yakshadeva Mithra Kala Mandali, Belvai, Moodbidre, DK, Karnataka came all the way from India to showcase this unique form of art to Sydney based audience.
The event was attended by 500+ people. The event generated lot of interest from the beginning and the electrifying performance by the Yakshagana team along with the tireless efforts by volunteers made sure the event was grand success.

The play was beautifully narrated and the audience was awed by the dance, music, dialogues, costume, make-up,stage techniques and felt entertained till the end. The crowd gave them a standing ovation.
The event concluded by Sri Nithish Achar from SVKVS felicitating the Yakshagana team by presenting mementos on the behalf of SVKVS and Sydney audience.
