So here it is. Our list of the 10 best movies of 2015 complied after many hours of pleasurable and painful viewing. The winner is a straight out masala film starring superstar Salman Khan; Bajrangi Bhaijan. In the film industry, most producers just sign up heavy weight stars who would carry the film to box office glory.

In the case of Bajrangi Bhaijaan there were many other ingredients that makes this movie absolutely enjoyable every time you see it. Nawazuddin Siddique’s character gave the plot the lift it needed. His timing, expressions and dialogue delivery was a treat to watch. The film is multi-layered, raising many social and political issues. Apart from the obvious comment on Indo-Pak relationships, the film questions the state of affairs in the TV media industry which is plagued by sensationalism, repetitive hammering and chasing TRPs for larger earnings. It also highlights the disruptive power of the internet that allows people to connect with each other on a one on one basis.

The movie has its share of predictable drama and quirks you’d expect in a Bollywood film including actors dressed as Lord Hanuman clicking selfies as they sing and dance but then this isn’t a serious drama. This movie is like the experience of having a luscious scoop of vanilla ice-cream adorning a glistening jalebi. So in case you haven’t seen these movies then catchup before you dive into 2016’s treats. Bon Apetit!
