Farhan Akhtar is currently filming for the long-awaited sequel to Rock On. Farhan, his director Shujaat Saudagar and the rest of the team shot a long spell in Shillong.

This was meant to be tribute to a long-neglected state of India and its persecuted people.

Says Farhan, “Every other day we read about some student from the North-East being roughed up bullied, or worse. I wanted to shoot in that part of our country for long. We all need to make the isolated parts of the country more assimilated. And I am so glad we shot in Shillong.”

And Farhan says they are all spellbound.

“I’ve shot in many foreign and Indian locations as an actor and a director. But the untouched natural beauty of Shillong left us all hankering for more. Normally after a schedule in an outdoor location, some crew members are unhappy to leave, others are happy to get home. But this is my first shooting schedule where all of us were equally unhappy to leave Shillong.”

Now Farhan is planning a holiday with his family in Shillong.

“Not only me, everyone in the Rock On 2 unit is planning to go back,” says Farhan.
