The city of Chennai has been deluged with heavy rainfall since December 2. The MET department has said that the city hasn’t received such a heavy downpour in the past 100 years.
Many leading actors from the Telugu and Tamil film industries have announced their contribution towards the Tamil Nadu Fund Relief for the affected victims. However, Rajinikanth is being criticised by everyone for donating a meager sum of Rs 10 lakh to help the rain affected victims of Chennai and Tamil Nadu.

Here is the reason for that. Rajinikanth, who will turn 65 on December 12, has called off his birthday celebrations and donated the same money to flood victims.

He met Chief Minister, Jayalalitha, and gave her a cheque of Rs 10 crore towards the CM Relief fund to help people who were severely affected by the Chennai floods.

Here are a list of actors and the amount they’ve contributed towards the relief work:

NTR’s actor-brother, Kalyanram, has also announced a contribution of Rs 5 lakh to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Another actor, Sampoornesh Babu, said he would donate Rs 50,000 for relief in the state ravaged by heavy rains and floods.

Mahesh Babu donated Rs 10 lakh for the relief.

Ravi Teja donated Rs 5 lakh.

Varun Tej donated Rs 3 lakh.

Allu Arjun has to donate Rs 25 lakh

Other South superstars like Suriya, Dhanush, Vishal, Karthi have donated Rs 50 lakh, combined, for the TN relief fund.
