People eager to recognise an outstanding woman should act quickly and nominate her for the 2016 NSW Women of the Year Awards before nominations close next week, Minister for Health and Acting Minister for Women Jillian Skinner said today.

Mrs Skinner said the awards celebrate remarkable and inspiring women and the contributions they make in NSW.

“Don’t miss your opportunity to nominate an impressive woman who is striving to be their very best and achieving brilliant things, visit www.women.nsw.gov.au before nominations close on Wednesday 13 January 2016.

Award categories include:
· Premier’s Award for Woman of the Year
· H. Beard’s Community Hero Award
· Harvey Norman’s Young Woman of the Year Award
· REX Airlines’ Regional Woman of the Year Award
· Aboriginal Woman of the Year

Mrs Skinner said an impressive number of nominations have already been received but she wants to see more.

“Everyone knows a woman who goes above and beyond to make a difference. With only one week to go until nominations close make sure you get your nominations in so that deserving women can be duly recognised for their outstanding efforts, Mrs Skinner said.

A ceremony for the 2016 winners will be held in March 2016 at Parliament House to coincide with International Women’s Day.
