With their next collaboration Tanu Weds Manu Returns up for release in a week, Kangana Ranaut is all praise for her director Aanand L Rai. “Aanand gave me my first family entertainer, Tanu Weds Manu, at a point in my career where I was trapped essaying neurotic characters. He showed tremendous faith in my versatility as an artiste. With Tanu Weds Manu Returns, he has again trusted my instincts and pushed me beyond my limits. I hope we continue creating magic together,” says Kangana.
For those who haven’t watched Madhavan-starrer Tanu Weds Manu (2011), the sequel by Eros International and Colour Yellow Productions — that will release on May 22 — promises to be just as enjoyable. Fans are also comparing Kangana-Aanand chemistry to other director-actor pairs who have delivered hits at the box-office. “I don’t know where the comparisons have stemmed from, but they are truly flattering,” says Aanand, adding, “Kangana, as an artiste, goes all out to transform herself into the director’s vision. I don’t see any other actor who is able to pull off her roles with such ease. Our love for food and movies has also always worked in our favour.”
