Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt says horror genre does have a repeat value if it is served with “great music”. “Horror films do have repeat value if the music is good, that’s what the evidence says. Horror is a component so when you have great music served with great horror, then it has the repeat value,” Bhatt told IANS in an interview.

He added: “We have made the franchise with great romance so that becomes a special kind of component which we add.” Bhatt, who has widely explored the horror genre in the industry, is now ready for his home production “Raaz Reboot”, starring Emraan Hashmi and Kriti Kharbanda.

The Zakhm maker says he is particularly happy with the response that the film’s teaser and music have garnered. He said, “I am certain that this 14-year-old franchise will be a money spinner… I am delighted with this response.”

Bhatt, who introduced Emraan to this industry with 2003 film Footpath, says he has come a long way. “Emraan has come a long way and there is no denying. He has grown as a man and that’s why he is grown as an actor. He can’t grow as an actor if he doesn’t grow as a man,” said the 67-year-old. Mahesh Bhatt has earlier directed many phenomenal movies including Zakhm.

Directed by Vikram Bhatt, the fourth instalment of the Raaz franchise features Emraan with south Indian actress Kriti Kharbanda. The film has been shot in Romania. Produced by Vishesh Films, the film will release on September 16.
