Revellers will be spoilt for choice with live entertainment across three stages, amusement rides, a pyrotechnic jet-ski show, fire-breathing acrobats and a diverse large array of food stalls.
Popular performance group Dauntless Movement Crew will perform fire tricks and circus stunts on the River foreshore before celebrations culminate with the 9pm fireworks spectacular.
Lord Mayor of Parramatta Cr Paul Garrard says New Year’s Eve celebrations in Parramatta are an annual tradition for families and friends to get together and celebrate in two relaxed, family-friendly locations.
“People can settle in along the river and families will love the colour and fun at the Parade Ground, with both sites offering a fantastic line-up of entertainment and rides, and viewing spots for the stunning 9pm fireworks display,” Cr Garrard said.
The Parade Ground will provide great entertainment for children and families with the stage program featuring Curious George, Cassie Darvall, the Sydney Soul Band and Jay Laga’aia, along with loads of amusement rides, food stalls and roving entertainment.
“New Year’s Eve in Parramatta promises to be a brilliant night out in our city to celebrate 2015 and welcome the start of new possibilities as we ring in 2016. So bring your picnic blanket and settle in for a fun-filled evening,” Cr Garrard said.
People are encouraged to share their images with #ParraNYE for a chance to see them up on the big screens on the night.
There will be some road closures and limited parking available. Attendees are encouraged to take public transport, plan ahead and arrive early to avoid disappointment. There will be no entry allowed once the sites are full.
