Asin Thottumkal’s ‘All Is Well’ may have sunk without a trace, but she is right now preparing for the most important role of her life – that of a bride – in real life. The beautiful actress, who sells 70 mm dreams, has finally found the man of her dreams – Delhi-based Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma. She hit the bull’s eye with Aamir Khan in Ghajini back in 2008 and backed it with the blockbuster Ready in 2011 – a smash hit with Salman Khan. “It was a conscious break,” she says referring to her recent appearance on screen after a gap of three years. “Maine soch rakha tha, the moment I don’t find it creatively interesting I will pack my bags,” says the actress who was also seen in Housefull 2 and Bol Bachchan. “There was no financial desperation to keep working or a yearning to stay in the limelight,” she says candidly.

Displaying a rare confidence she adds, “I’m content with my journey. Not many have been able to straddle both the North and the South industries, except for say perhaps Srideviji. I had no filmi connections. I don’t have a sugar daddy or a grandfather, uncle or aunty who’s part of the industry. I don’t have a star boyfriend who will keep me in the news. And that’s not the criteria, which should bring you work though. You should get it on your merit.”

Another meritorious accomplishment – her love story – was courtesy Akshay Kumar, the actor, who played cupid in this love story. The story goes that the dapper businessman and the showbiz damsel were introduced by friend Akshay on a plane. The actress, who’s slated to tie the knot soon, finds it difficult to conceal the blush as she recalls, “Akshay played a cupid during the promotions of Housefull 2. Rahul and I first met at the private airport in Mumbai as I was flying with Akshay Kumar for the promotions of ‘Housefull 2’. Rahul, who also turns out to be Akki’s best friend, was the organiser for the event. He is very simple and down to earth and that quality stuck with me. And then Akshay tells me, “I think you two will be good for each other. I was like what??? Where is this coming from? Akshay is a very good friend, one of my favourite co-stars and can joke with me, so I thought this one was also one of his random jokes.”

However, AK’s intuition did turn out to be right! Soon after 2-3 meetings, Rahul decided to meet Asin’s parents. Adds Asin, “Rahul came and met my parents and expressed his intention to them. He is very sorted and knows his mind clearly. And he tells them, ‘I would like your daughter’s hand in marriage.’ But I wanted some time. So with their permission we started to get to know each other.”

The actress, who seemed head over heels in love, was gushing with praise for the entrepreneur. “He is very selfless and outstandingly secure and I feel that’s pure love, the rest is selfishness. Throughout the relationship, his sole concern is my happiness. Also he is level headed, mature and along with all of that, the fact that he is so grounded, and simple. He is very correct in doing things the right way,” she said.

After been together for almost four years, they are finally ready to take their relationship to the next level. Asin officially announced her wedding by the end of this year.

As per a Bombay Times report, Rahul proposed to his lady love last year (2014) in a lavish style as he got down on his knees and gifted her a grand ring. The ring’s value is estimated to be Rs. 6 crore and is designed by one of their common designer friend. The 20-carat solitaire has been imported from Belgium. Apart from this, the ring has a monogram of Asin and Rahul’s initials (AR) on it. And, Rahul has also got a personal message engraved on it for her.

There have been no official announcements about the wedding date yet. But, keep watching this space if you want to be the first to know about Asin’s upcoming shaadi!
