Newly released concept art for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has revealed a completely different design for Ben Affleck’s Batsuit.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, as we all know, released back in 2015 to something of a mixed reception. The film earned mixed reviews and, while not a flop by any means, was not the massive moneymaker that Warner Bros had hoped for which lead to last-second changes to the direction of the DCEU that still affect it to this very day. One area that everyone seemed to agree on, however, was that Ben Affleck’s performance in Batman v Superman was one of the best aspects of the film.

Ben Affleck’s Batman was notably more muscular than previous actors who had taken on the role and decidedly more darker in nature, owing to inspiration from the Frank Miller Batman comic, The Dark Knight Returns. This also included a costume for Ben Affleck’s Batman that was arguably better than any other that had been put into live-action. Once upon a time, however, Ben Affleck’s suit for Batman was going to look entirely different.

In a recent post, Batman v Superman concept artist Jerad Marantz revealed an early design for Ben Affleck’s Batman suit. It showed a decidedly more lean version of the character with more mechanisms in his suit and is not unlike the designs from the Batman: Arkham games. According to the description below the image, this was due to the fact that they did not know what the outfit was going to be cloth. You can see the full images below:

What do you make of this early design for Ben Affleck’s outfit? Is it better than the one that they went with for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
