After two years of cold war, it looks like superstar Salman Khan has finally decided to bury old issues with Arijit Singh. The singer is all set to sing a solo song in Salman Khan’s next film, Tubelight.
“Yes I am singing for Tubelight. It was recently reported that I said I will never sing for Salman. Who am I to make such arrogant and unwarranted remarks? As far as I am concerned, I am and have always been a Salman Khan fan,” he told DNA. “It is all in the past now. Shall we move on?” he added, talking about his past rift with Salman.
Speculation began when Arijit had posted a heartfelt apology letter to Salman Khan on Facebook, literally begging the actor to retain a song sung by him in Sultan. The singer said in the letter that he unintentionally rubbed the Sultan star in the wrong way. While the apology letter didn’t say why Salman was angry at Arijit, buzz said that a comment that Arijit made at an award function had irked the actor. Arijit’s version of the song was later dropped from Sultan.
Arijit later deleted the post but the damage had been done. It came to light that nearly two years ago, Arijit Singh had dozed off during an award function when his name was called out by Salman Khan and Riteish Deshmukh as the winner. When Salman asked if Airjit was asleep, the singer said in jest that Salman and Riteish’s jokes put him to sleep. Salman had then made fun of Arijit’s song, Tum Hi Ho.
Arijit had maintained that Salman never forgave him for the jibe.
