The Victorian bikie taskforce has raided five properties across Melbourne’s southeast on Wednesday, in which they arrested four people linked to a non-fatal shooting earlier in October.
The Echo Taskforce raid took place following the shooting incident at Carrum Downs on October 1. In the shooting, a 35-year-old man was left with a leg injury following the gunshot. The raids were launched at Donvale, Officer, Dandenong, Hallam and Pakenham properties. The search operation helped the officials find a Donvale man, 29, and an Officer man, 27. The duo has been arrested and is now helping the officers with their inquiries.
On the other hand, searching the Pakenham property helped the police recover a man, 22, and a woman, 19, who were charged with drug offences not related to the early October shooting. The officers, moreover, inspected a black vehicle at the Pakenham property and seized not only the car but also the items obtained in brown paper bags after searching the house.
Police also examined a black four-wheeler at a Donvale property before they handcuffed a man. According to the ABC, armed forces knocked on the door of all the five properties and grabbed the suspects. A neighbor claimed that she was awakened by the loud bangs early in the morning at around 6:00 am. The person said that she thought that it was a home invasion but later, she found that it was a raid launched by Victorian bikie taskforce.
With the increase in the number of drug deals, the frequency of police raids has also been increasing, especially in Sydney and Melbourne. The officers divide into different groups and raid the properties at the same time to ensure they don’t give the alleged criminals a chance to escape. Most of the operations are related to drug offences while some are related to other crimes.
Apart from drugs, shooting, murder, etc., the clown terror has become yet another threat for Melbournians. Police have warned that it won’t tolerate any anti-social behavior by people who pose like jesters and terrorize the public.
