A former teacher accused of sexually assaulting a student almost 20 years ago has faced a Perth court.
Scott Andrew Cox, 49, appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Monday charged with three counts of sexually penetrating the 15-year-old girl and one count of indecently dealing with her.
Police allege the sexual offences happened in 2001.
“At the time of the (alleged) offence, the man was a teacher at a school in the Mid-West Gascoyne district and the victim was a student at the same school,” police said in a statement on Monday.
Mr Cox, who now lives in the Perth suburb of Doubleview, was granted bail.
He is scheduled to face court again on December 2.
