Two men have drowned at Teewah Beach on Noosa’s North Shore, while a nine-year-old boy has been flown to hospital in a stable condition.
Two men aged in their mid-30s have died after being pulled from the water at a beach on Noosa’s North Shore and suffering cardiac arrests, while a nine-year-old boy was also retrieved and rushed to hospital.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesman confirmed paramedics responded to a triple-0 call about 2.30pm on Saturday and when they arrived at Teewah Beach, three people had been helped to shore by bystanders.
They were performing CPR on the two men, who were declared deceased after paramedics took over trying to revive them.
The boy also received CPR and was flown by helicopter to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
The spokesman said it was not yet known how the trio got into trouble and whether they knew each other.
He praised the bystanders for their assistance.
One of the bystanders who went into the water to help was checked by paramedics.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
