The deaths of three more people in NSW from coronavirus have been confirmed overnight, bringing Australia’s death toll to 74 and NSW’s toll to 33.
A 75-year-old man died in St George Hospital, and a 80-year-old woman died in Gosford Hospital yesterday.
The latest toll also includes a 92-year-old woman who died on Tuesday morning at Anglicare’s Newmarch House aged care home in Caddens. Newmarch House is home to about 100 people with 28 residents and 14 staff infected with the coronavirus.
Five new cases of coronavirus have been reported in NSW, taking the total to 2974, with at least 20 people in intensive care.
In Queensland, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced zero coronavirus cases were recorded for the second time this week.
The state’s total of confirmed cases remains at 1024 and the state has undertaken more than 90,000 tests.
In WA, just one new case was recorded on Tuesday – a healthcare worker at Royal Perth Hospital.
The female employee did not attend work while symptomatic and her close contacts will be notified and told to isolate.
