Sydney Lions Welcome Senior Indian Lion

A Vice-president of Lions Clubs International, Naresh Aggarwal, has been welcomed to Sydney at a dinner held in the Emperors Garden Restaurant.  The dinner was hosted by the Lions Club of Sydney Lions.

Vice-president Aggarwal was elected to the position of Second International Vice-president at the Lions’ 98th International Convention held in Hawaii last June.

A member of the Batala Smile Lions Club since 1974 he has received many Lions awards up to the Ambassador of Good Will Award which is the highest honour the Lions organisation can bestow upon its members.

In addition to his Lions activities, Vice-president Aggarwal has been active in numerous professional and community organisations.  These organisations include the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the FICCI-SAARC Forum.

Vice-president is visiting Australia with wife, Navita, who is also a Lion.  They have two sons and one daughter and five grandchildren.

As part of the dinner a new Lions Club, Blacktown Ponds with its charter and inducted a new member increasing the Club’s membership to 28.

IVP Naresh also presented Guiding Lions badges and gifts to two experienced Lions from the neighbouring Kings Langley Lions Club, John Fernandes and Derek Margerison.  As Guiding Lions John and Derek are is assist the new Club during the first two years.
