Filmmaker Karan Johar has reportedly bought the remake rights of the Marathi blockbuster ‘Sairat’ the original producers will be co-producing the movie along with the Dharma Productions banner.

Reports say that the filmmakers will be bringing in a fresh new cast for the movie just like the Marathi film. Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Jhanvi Kapoor is touted to be the leading lady in the movie.


Speculations are rife about the other newbies too which include Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara Khan and Shahid Kapoor’s half brother Ishaan Khattar. And despite the fact that Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli is busy pursuing her studies at present, her name also floated around in the media as one of the probable names.

The Marathi blockbuster Sairat, that starred Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar became the first regional movie to collect crores at the box office and joining the elusive 100-crore club.
