Filmmakers Kabir Khan, Shoojit Sircar and Hansal Mehta, along with 21 NGOs, have lent their support to Kajarya, which deals with female infanticide.
After the trailer launch, they shared it on social media to spread the message of save the girl child. The thriller, directed by Madhureeta Anand, has also been praised by world-renowned playwright Eve Ensler.
Starring Meenu Hooda and Ridhima Sud in pivotal roles, the dark drama revolves around two women from different backgrounds whose lives intertwine. Produced by Star Fire Movies, Ekaa films and Oddjoint films, it highlights the condition of women both in rural and urban India through a unique perspective. After a successful premiere at the Dubai International Film Festival, the movie, which has won accolades in China, Geneva, California and many other countries, releases in India on December 4.
