We are delighted to present our IABCA Indian Australian Ambassador of the Year 2015 DD Saxena Managing Director, ROBE.
Indian Australian Ambassador of the Year 2015

Managing Director of ROBE (Riverina Oils & BioEnergy), Dhruv Deepak Saxena (D.D.) was recently honoured with the highly prestigious Indian Australian Ambassador of the Year Award for 2015 at the Annual India Australia Business and Community Awards (IABCA).

His personal contribution includes the Parikrama Project. A school in Bangalore, India which educates, clothes and feeds 1800 children from Grade 1 till end of school (Grade 12). DD as he is fondly known in India and Australia, has contributed funds to build a block in this school which has adequate class rooms and other amenities. He also contributes regularly to support food programs for these school children. The school children come from slums and are under privileged but excel in sports and education at a state level given this opportunity.
We also spoke to him about the East – West Overseas Aid Foundation – the Foundation was started as a center for providing housing, clothing, education and food for 200 displaced children during the tsunami in 2004. This foundation is set up in Australia whilst supporting this project in Pondicherry in India. The foundation also runs mobile medical checkup and treatment services in rural areas of Tamil Nadu.
From a corporate perspective, DD provided the City of Wagga Wagga 30,000 + nights in hotels/motels which contributed significantly to Community of Wagga Wagga during establishing the ROBE Projects. ROBE is providing the community with an opportunity to retain and expand their business. Ranging from mechanical engineering, welding, machine installation, electrical services to transport services etc.
ROBE also provides employment to a range of different nationalities from China, Africa, South East Asia, India, Turkey and others and assists in settling them in Australia.
DD’s company ROBE has also participated in training and development projects in Wagga Wagga City. ROBE plays an active role in participating and supporting young professionals and multicultural activities across the nation.
“The time has come in Australia for business leaders to make a difference to impact and certainly contribute in a big way meaningfully. I think an awards program like this adds to our success and provides necessary credibility. It is only with success that we as Australian Indians can make a difference in this country” DD Saxena
IABCA is a welcome sign of how far relations between Australia and India have advanced and it is now a flagship event in the Australian Indian business and community events calendar.
