GOPIO Sydney added another feather to its cap with its annual signature event “Heritage India 2015″ at Bowman Hall, Blacktown, Sydney NSW on December 5th , 2015 that was well attended by a large number of audience. This unique event showcasing the Indian cultural heritage has become the most awaited in Sydney.

The function as the chief guest and congratulated GOPIO for its efforts to raise the awareness of the Indian Heritage among the younger generation in the community.
Mr. Vikram Mohindra welcomed the gathering. Following a ceremonial lamp lighting, Dr. Madhavi Mohindra, of GOPIO presented the much awaited “Heritage India 2015” to the applause of the audience.
The highly rhythmical Indian classical dances included Rajasthani dance by the
Elegant Creations, Kuchipudi by Ms Shobna, Lavani by Lotus Dance School, Bharatanatyam by Nrityagriha, Kathak by Swastik Dance School, Gidha by Huner E Punjab, traditional Kathputli (puppet show), Bihu dance by Jashn Events, melodious Tabla and Sitar jugalbandi by Dr Rashpal Singh and Mr Maharishi Raval, Garba by Jashn Events.
The Bhangra by Down To Bhangra group was the climax of the event well received. The puppet show proved to be the highlight of the evening and was instant hit
among young kids who danced along the puppets. The credit goes to cultural coordinator Dr Kanan Shah, who played an instrumental role in production of the event.
The programme concluded with the beats of Bhangra and vote of thanks by Mr
Balvinder Ruby, Vice President, GOPIO Sydney. The event was sponsored by
Mr Praveen Challa of SMG Stones and Marbles, Paradise Biryani North Strathfield,
the official caterers and Mr Amarjit Dhot of NFS, GOPIO Sydney team and the performers. The Executive Committee, GOPIO Sydney and the volunteers worked hard
for several months and looking forward to another exciting year.
