Dangal shooting stalled after Aamir Khan collapses on sets

For all the effort he puts into being a perfectionist, it had to happen one day. Aamir Khan, who was shooting in Ludhiana (Punjab) for his next film, Dangal, collapsed after sustaining a shoulder injury on the sets on Saturday. According to reports, the shooting had to be stalled after the superstar collapsed while trying to can a long action sequence.

Aamir, however, has now said that his injury is not a major one and has confirmed that after resting for a week, he will be back on the sets.

Aamir Khan got injured on sets while doing a wrestling sequence. He has suffered a shoulder injury. He is coming back to Mumbai on Monday for one week’s bed rest. For now the shooting in Ludhiana is stalled. Doctor would advise further course after a week.

“Aamir had been filming a long action sequence that required multiple takes from different angles. When he slumped during the final take, the unit thought he had pulled a muscle. He was in excruciating pain even after half an hour of rest and ice packs. He couldn’t even stand up and was was then rushed to the hospital,” the actor’s spokesperson said in a statement.

While there were reports about this weight gain taking a toll on Aamir’s health, his trainer, Rahul Bhatt, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt’s son, denied this. “My job is to make sure to keep things in check and all I can say is that Aamir is only making this easy. He follows the advice of professionals like us and we are minimizing risks so that this weight gain has no long-term effect on his health,” he said.

“We already have a battle plan for him to lose this weight too. He is addicted to hard work and I am 110% sure that he will lose this weight without compromising his health,” Rahul added.

Aamir, who had put on a lot of weight for his role in Dangal , was scheduled to undergo training and lose weight from December for essaying the second phase of Mahavir Phogat’s life. The accident is likely stall the plans.

Dangal is scheduled to release in December 2016.
