Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres has announced applications for NSW Government grants to help local sports groups across the State have been extended to the end of February.

“Sport is evolving faster than most people realise and the NSW Government is working with the sector so clubs and associations have the skills and tools to adapt to an exciting future,” Mr Ayres said.

“The funding aims to increase regular and on-going participation and active recreation by encouraging more people to get moving and become active in their local areas.

“Sport is the lifeblood of communities across the length and breadth of NSW and these grants will encourage people of all ages and abilities to get involved.”

The Local Sport Grant Program will see up to $50,000 in grants distributed to local sporting clubs and groups in all 93 NSW electorates.

There are four project types within the Program:
· Sport club development
· Community sport events
· Sport access
· Facility development and capital equipment

Applications close Monday 29 February 2016 at 5pm.
