Finding somewhere to park in the Parramatta CBD has just become a lot easier thanks to the launch of a new interactive Parking Finder that helps drivers locate potential parking spaces before they leave home.

Developed by City of Parramatta Council in partnership with Sydney start-up Spot Parking, the Parramatta CBD Parking Finder will show users where they can find on-street and multi-storey car parking in the Parramatta CBD, as well as outlining any restrictions and costs.

“This is a fantastic initiative that will make driving into the Parramatta CBD a little less stressful for many commuters. Knowing where you can park, for how long and at what cost ahead of time will make parking in the City a smoother and more streamlined experience,” City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Andrew Wilson said.

In a first for New South Wales, the Parking Finder will also show all on-street accessible parking spaces, complete with photographs and rating, and provide entry height details for multi-storey car parks.

“The website will allow visitors to familiarise themselves with the area ahead of time and avoid potential fines by highlighting parking hour restrictions, fees and designated accessible parking spaces. It will also save commuters time and potentially reduce traffic congestion caused by people driving around looking for somewhere to park.”

Elizabeth Zealand, CEO of Spot Parking said the Parking Finder will also be of significant value to the planning and asset management of the City.

“The Parramatta CBD Parking Finder is a great addition to the Safe School Parking Finder we developed with Council last year. Having a complete digital inventory of the available spaces and their restrictions will make parking in Parramatta easier, more cost effective and, in some instances, safer,” Ms Zealand said.

The Parramatta CBD Parking Finder, which can be found at, follows Council’s launch of the Safe School Parking Finder ( in September last year.

The Parking Finder is supported by Council’s Smart City Advisory Committee.
