Best buddies

Deepika Padukone may continue her swift ascent to Bollywood’s zenith, but the leggy lass is attracting more than her fair share of controversies. Recently, the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actress stated that the enitre news of Shahrukh Khan being miffed with her was blown out of proportion, and that everything is hunky dory between her and King Khan. She also said that Shahrukh was one of the first to call and congratulate her on the launch of her ‘Live, Laugh, Love’ foundation. The alleged cold war began when Deepika tweeted ‘Challenge accepted’ in response to a clash of their films at the box office. But Deepika’s a smart siren, who won’t get on the wrong side of SRK. So now they’re back to being BFFs. Or so Deepika says…

Nargis now trending

Actress Nargis Fakhri has been missing from the radar for a while now, but we’ve finally run her to ground. She is preparing to play Sangeeta Bijlani in the upcoming film ‘Azhar’, based on the life and times of former Indian cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin. Nargis is attending rigorous acting workshops and the buzz is that it was her looks, style and glamour quotient that sealed the deal in her favour. Nargis ran the race with actresses Kareena Kapoor Khan, Nimrat Kaur and Jacqueline Fernandes, and emerged a winner. Emran Hashmi will star in the titular role and it will be a delight to see the two grace the screen. Take heart, Nargis Fakhri fans!

Another Salman avatar?

The title song of ‘Hero’, Salman Khan’s upcoming film as producer may be garnering rave reviews, but the superstar has another surprise for his fans. Gupshup has heard that Sallu will play the villain in his upcoming film ‘Kick 2’. Salman has confessed in many interviews that he would love to play a negative character, if he is tempted with a good script. Well, it may yet happen! Apparently, Salman will be seen in a double role in the film, in a positive and negative character. So as usual, Salman will be baking his cake and eating it too, while laughing hysterically all the way to the bank! Lucky guy!

Kirti backs Gaurav

The norm may be to break up after a scintillating debut, but Kirti Sanon who shone in ‘Heropanti’, seems serious about her boyfriend, model Gaurav Arora. It is heartening to note that this lissom lass is serious about her relationship, and has been putting in a word to various filmmakers in tinseltown to get Gaurav a break. Her efforts seems to have yielded fruit as the Bhatt camp are set to launch him in a part of the ‘Murder’ movie franchise. Naturally, Kirti was in denial mode about Gaurav (considering her next biggie is ‘Dilwale’ with Varun

Dhawan, Kajol and Shahrukh Khan), but the cat’s now out of the bag and the glam couple are set to take on Bollywood in their separate shows. Good luck to them!

Wedding bells for Asin

Not long after Shahid Kapoor tied the knot with Delhi girl Mira Rajput, Asin will be getting hitched with businessman Rahul Sharma, co-founder of Micromax, one of the top mobile telecommunications companies in India. Asin, who will soon be seen in Abhishek Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor’s ‘All Is Well’, will marry Rahul, almost ten years her senior by the end of the year. Asin’s ‘Khiladi 786’ co-star Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle are said to have played cupid in this love story. Good luck to the happy couple.

Sona opposite Akki again

After hit films with Akshay Kumar (‘Rowdy Rathore’, ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobara’, ‘Holiday’, ‘Joker’) and songs in ‘OMG’ and ‘Boss’, Sonakshi Sinha is thrilled to be approached to do another film with the star. The film, ‘Namaste England’ is helmed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who directed ‘Namaste London’ with Akshay and Katrina Kaif. Apparently Sonakshi had stopped signing films opposite Akshay so that they wouldn’t look stale together. In the interim, she did films with Shahid Kapur, Arjun Kapoor and Ajay Devgn, to break the monotony. But now after a string of flops, she seems keen to work with her lucky charm again! A sensible decision!
