Kedarnath Hits Mucky Waters
Sara Ali Khan’s Bollywood debut Kedarnath seems to be in a big trouble. All is not well between the film’s director, Abhishek Kapoor, and producers Prerna Arora and Arjun N Kapoor (KriArj Entertainment) and T-series. Kapoor reportedly had a fallout with the financers over the film’s budget. It was reported previously that Abhishek Kapoor had an ugly spat with producer Prernaa Arora, with KriArj opting to walk out of the project. They also filed a legal case against Abhishek Kapoor for violating the terms and conditions of their contract. A source close to the makers of the film informed that earlier Kapoor had committed he would complete the project in four months but it has now been over 16 months and the film’s production is still underway. The producers were also unhappy with the way Kapoor was dealing with technicians and firing them off the sets frequently. A reliable source further went on to hint that the film is on the verge of being shelved! Kedarnath is set against the backdrop of the Uttarakhand floods and stars Sushant Singh Rajput as the male lead.
Amrita Singh V/S Abhishek Kapoor
Sara Ali Khan’s debut vehicle Kedarnath was one of the highly anticipated films of 2018. However, the film has been marred with controversies and now, there looms a cloud of uncertainty over the film. Director Abhishek Kapoor has invited the wrath of Amrita Singh too, mother of Sara Ali Khan. Amrita, who was extremely supportive of her daughter’s Bollywood debut, is now concerned about Sara’s future! She is reportedly very upset with Gattu (Abhishek Kapoor) for his brash behaviour. A source claims, “When Gattu called Dingy (Amrita) to tell her about his decision to fly solo with Kedarnath and only getting a big studio on board for the release, Amrita completely lost her cool. A heated argument took place between the two.” Amrita’s anxiety in the matter is not misplaced. After all, Sara’s debut is being looked forward to. Now, the fight between the makers of Kedarnath has put the girl’s career in jeopardy, for no fault of hers.
Too Hot To Handle
As though news about their collaboration wasn’t reason enough for their fans to rejoice, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, we hear, are upping the ante for their first cinematic association. The duo is set to take part in a 15-day gymnastics training course for Siddharth Anand’s directorial venture, before the film goes on floors in August. Apparently, the routine being designed for Roshan and Shroff is an aggressive form of gymnastics, originally a military drill used in warfare. The schedule will kick-off after Roshan returns from Banaras, where he is currently filming Vikas Bahl’s Super 30. “They will be guided by Spanish experts. The production house will fly them to Greece to train. A minimum of 15 days will be required to learn the tricks, following which, Hrithik and Tiger will improvise and hone their skills at their convenience”, says our source. The revenge drama sees Roshan slip into the role of Shroff’s guru. When producers Yash Raj Films had announced the venture last year, the actors were part of an interesting exchange of words on social media to pique curiosity around the project. Shroff had previously expressed gratitude on being given the chance to work with his “idol”, Roshan, by stating, “Hrithik sir is hardworking. I won’t match up to him unless I put in twice the amount of effort that he does.”
Paltan Calls It A Day
It’s a wrap for the cast and crew of J P Dutta’s Paltan in Chandigarh. The veteran filmmaker and his team, including actors Sonu Sood, Arjun Rampal, Harshvardhan Rane, Luv Sinha, Siddhant Kapoor, Gurmeet Choudhary, Jackie Shroff, Esha Gupta, Monica Gill and Dipika Kakar have recently completed the extensive shoot schedule in Chandigarh. After making a grand announcement of the ambitious war drama in July last year, JP Dutta has shot the multi-starrer across the exotic landscapes of Ladakh region followed by Chandigarh. In an attempt to push the envelope and present audiences with another chapter from Indian history –the veteran director-producer is elated with the way the movie has been shaped up and couldn’t stop thanking the cast and crew of his war drama for their undying love and support and shooting in extreme conditions. Produced by JP Films and presented by Zee Studios, the release date of Paltan will be announced soon.
Fakhri Gears Up To Scare The Wits Out Of You
It has been close to two years since Nargis Fakhri had a big screen outing. But the actor seems to be making up for lost time – after shooting for Sanjay Dutt’s Torbaaz, she has also come on board Bhushan Patel’s next directorial, Amaavas. The horror film went on floors in London during the Valentine’s week. It is noteworthy that the stunner has no reservations about trying her hand at a genre that has not fully gained prominence in Hindi cinema. It may be recalled that post the release of Banjo (2016), Fakhri had headed out to New York, leading to rumours that she had left Bollywood for good. However, she had rubbished the reports claiming that she would return to films as soon as a project caught her fancy. She stayed true to her word as she kicked off the 45-day start-to-finish schedule of Amaavas.
