Australia’s ultra marathon running legend, Pat Farmer AM, will launch his next running challenge at an event in Parliament House, Canberra on Wednesday 2 December 2015.

The Spirit of India will see Pat run the length of India – from south to north – over 4600km in 60 days.
The run will begin on 26 January 2016 – a significant date for both countries, marking Australia Day and India Republic Day.

Pat’s aim is to promote goodwill, friendship and trade between Australia and India, while also highlighting and raising funds for girls’ education in India. Young girls grow up to be the mothers and first educators to their children so Pat believes every girl should have basic literacy skills and education is the way to change their world.

Pat will detail the run route and expected challenges and outline his motivation for this new challenge.
