Noted Bollywood actor and television star Sushant Singh Rajput reportedly committed suicide on Sunday. As per preliminary investigation, he was found hanging at his Bandra residence.

His demise came as a shock to many as this is the fourth death of a famous personality from the Hindi film industry to pass away in the past two months, after Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor succumbed to cancer and Wajid Khan from the Sajid-Wajid duo fell prey to the coronavirus pandemic.

Condolences poured in from all quarters for the highly-talented actor who won several awards for his roles in movies like M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, PK and Kedarnath.

“We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic passing away of young Bollywood actor, a soul brimming with promise and possibilities #SushantSinghRajput. Our condolences to his family, loved ones and all those who admired his work. Gone too soon,” Youth Congress said on social media platform Twitter.

Sushant’s death comes just barely a week after his former manager Disha Salian committed suicide last Monday by jumping off the 14th floor of her apartment in Mumbai.

“It’s such devastating news. My deepest condolences to Disha’s family and friends. May your soul rest in peace,” Sushant had said back then.

“Shocked & deeply saddened to hear about the suicide of talented & brilliant actor Sushant Singh Rajput. This unfortunate death of a young & successful individual brings issues related to mental health, particularly in these times, to the fore. RIP,” Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said.

Shiv Sena spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi too expressed her condolences over his demise. “This is the most most depressing and heartbreaking news about Sushant Sinigh Rajput. I have no words to even express the sadness I feel. I was a huge fan of his work. This is cruel cruel times. Condolences to his friends and family,” she said.
