He has delved through his extensive cricketing memorabilia and has presented us with unique and rare photographs of the very first India-Australia cricketing encounter down under in 1947-48. These visuals are of India’s first Test series as a free country, played against Australia in November 1947, three months after Independence.
Australia, led by the legendary Donald Bradman, won four out of the five matches, but Vijay Hazare’s centuries in the fourth test at Adelaide were particularly memorable as he scored an astonishing 116 and 145, becoming the first Indian batsman to score a century in each inning of a test match, and even winning the praise of the great Bradman •
