YEESS Launch and Youth Festival 2015 on 4th Oct at Blacktown Showground

It was sheer pleasure to see tiny and big steps going wild to Hip pop, Bollywood, Bhangra, Break and many dance styles from different part of world .It was amazing to see all the colours of happiness performing together at the inaugural Youth Festival 2015 organised by YEESS (Youth Engagement and Employment Support System) earlier this month.

The Occasion was the launch of YEESS (Youth Engagement and Employment Support System) at the Youth festival held at Blacktown Showground, Richmond Road, Blacktown on 4 October, more than 120 Young artists from various cultural backgrounds participated and showcased their talent, culture and were instrumental in spreading knowledge about their cultural backgrounds. Even warm weather failed to stop youngster’s dedication and hard work on stage. They were excited and sharing their thoughts to each other on this networking platform. Parents went to great lengths to dress their children up in wonderful national costumes, they looked amazing.

At this occasion, Path Preet Singh said, these festival are very important to bring community closer and play significant role in teaching young people about different cultures and backgrounds. Raman Bhalla described this festival as a well-deserved platform to empower disadvantaged Youth who will have a positive impact on our society through medium of arts.

According to Jaswinder Singh, It was the first of a series of events spread out over the next year. YEESS is committed to delivering educational events and workshops that appeal to a cross-cultural demographic and spread information and awareness within Local Youth Community.

YEESS offers programs and service model that have lifelong benefits for all of the participants, and aims to help young people to develop a range of life skills, including healthy behaviour; build confidence, self-esteem, leadership skills, communication and teamwork; event management and planning; and volunteering opportunities that link young people to further education and training. YEESS will create range of programmes.

The organisation seeks to engage with community institutions to prevent disadvantaged youth from resorting to violence, alcoholism, self-harm and other forms of destructive behaviour.

YEESS strategic focus is to engage with welfare agencies, Australian Government and identify issues within the Australian Youth Community

YEESS’s focus is to build young entrepreneurs in Australia with providing “Youth Entrepreneurship Program“ i.e Business Package i.e mentorship, free business cards, business website, accountant and taxation advice for no charge, so young people can concentrate on improving skills and accomplish their goals.

Last but not the least, the festival concluded with cakes, refreshments and cold drinks amidst exchange of hugs!
